Plot:
Donia, a beautiful young Afghan girl, has a hard time. She used to work as a translator for the U.S. Army and now suffers from insomnia. She lives alone in an apartment building in Fremont, where most of her neighbors are Afghan immigrants like her. She often goes to a slow-moving restaurant alone to eat and watch soap operas. Donia works in a fortune cookie factory in the city. One day, her boss promoted her to write fortune cookie messages, and her life changed. As more and more strangers in the Bay Area read her fortune messages, Donia had an increasingly irresistible idea in her heart: to send a special message to the world - although she was not sure where this message would go.
