Plot:
Flora (Eve Hewson) is a young mother living in Dublin who long ago lost her ambitions and struggles to raise her son Max (Orén Kinlan) while juggling a make-do childcare job and a fraught co-parenting arrangement with an unfriendly ex. Mother and son have a strained relationship and struggle to understand each other, with Flora masquerading as a selfish person in search of autonomy and self-love, and Max, craving independence and self-expression, turning to crime and becoming a thief. The police encourage Flora to find a hobby for Max, and when Flora gives her son a discarded second-hand guitar as a birthday present, he refuses and decides to take lessons on her own via Zoom from a teacher who loves music. As the two build their relationship, Max's own musical talent emerges, and music will revitalize life, awaken long-dormant dreams, and allow people who grew up in isolation to establish new connections.
