Plot:
In the early days of Hong Kong, a large number of refugees poured in, and good and bad people mixed together. Chaozhou people Yang Qun brought young Xiaofeng and Ahua (played by Andy Lau) to Hong Kong, but unexpectedly, the friend he took refuge with just died, so he raised Xiaofeng, Ahua and Liangzai alone. A few years later, Liangzai (played by Alex Man) was unlearned and addicted to gambling, and ended up owing a huge sum of money. Ahua was beaten and injured to save him, and attracted the pursuit of the gangsters. He was desperate and asked Zhou (played by Chow Yun-fat) for help. Zhou kept Ahua by his side because of his bravery and righteousness and entrusted him with important tasks, which made Ahua rise rapidly; Liangzai was frivolous and impetuous, and was not favored by Zhou, but he hated Ahua because of this. Liangzai colluded with the gangster boss to kill the Thai drug lord (played by Danny Lee) who was protected by Zhou. Zhou wanted to kill Liangzai for revenge, but he was saved after Ahua pleaded for mercy. But Liang Zai refuses to repent and instead wants to kill Ah Hua, and plans to kill him on Zhou's wedding day...
