The play is based on public records and the book "Integrity" co-authored by Egil "Bud" Krogh and Matthew Krogh. The story tells how President Richard Nixon's own political thugs, the masterminds of the "Watergate Incident" E. Howard Hunt (Woody Harrison) and G. Gordon Liddy (Justin Theroux), accidentally overthrew the presidency they wanted to protect. Nixon has a team of "Plumbers/White House Plumbers" who specialize in collecting intelligence on political enemies, discrediting opponents, and preventing insiders from breaking the news. E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy are the commanders of the team.
