Plot:
Justified is adapted from the famous 2001 crime novel Fire in the Hole by American writer Elmore Leonard. It tells the story of Raylan Givens, a U.S. federal marshal, who uses traditional methods to solve modern cases. Raylan exudes a strong cowboy vibe: he wears a light-colored Stetson hat, a pair of cowboy boots, and two Glocks on his waist. He never draws his gun unless it is absolutely necessary - either he doesn't use it, or he uses it quickly and hits the target. Raylan was born in Harlan, a rural town in eastern Kentucky, where he spent his youth - playing ball, chasing girls, and digging coal - this was all his life. At the age of 19, he made up his mind to become a federal law enforcement officer and resolutely left Kentucky. A few years later, just when Raylan was ready to make a big move, he was sent back to his hometown of Kentucky, where he swore he would never return, because he justifiably shot and killed a gunman in public in Miami. Nick Searcy plays Raylan's new boss, Art Mullen, the chief executive marshal of the Lexington Branch of the Federal Marshals Service in Kentucky; Jacob Pitts plays Tim Gutterson, an executive marshal and sniper who has joined the branch for 9 months and participated in the Afghanistan War and the Iraq War as an Army Ranger; Erica Tazel plays Rachel Brooks, an African-American executive marshal who often works with Raylan. Tracking fugitives, transporting prisoners and protecting witnesses are their basic work as federal marshals. After returning to his hometown, Raylan has to face his old friends: Boyd Crowder, his former mining buddy and best friend, has now become a neo-Nazi leader who carries a bazooka on his shoulder and bombards churches; Ava Crowder, the cheerleading captain with whom he had a crush in high school, has already married someone else; and there is also his ex-wife Winona Hawkins, who ran away with the real estate agent while shopping for a house; however, the person he least wants to see is his father, Arlo Givens, a professional criminal.
