The story takes place in a fictional sci-fi world, where people with superpowers live with ordinary people. Once, because superpowers were abused and out of control, humans suffered a painful lesson. Therefore, after the trauma gradually recovered, these superpowers became "second-class citizens" under the close surveillance of the government, discriminated against everywhere, and even hunted by the military. Those caught will be sent to quarantine areas. Chloe (Lexy Kolker) is a simple and kind child who lives a life of dependence with her father (Emile Hirsch). On weekdays, her father strictly forbade Chloe to step out of the house as if the world outside the house was full of dangers. One day, under the temptation of ice cream, Chloe secretly went out and unexpectedly learned that her mother might still be alive in the world.
