TNT announced the renewal of Falling Skies for the fourth season, with the same number of episodes. The average number of viewers in the third season (Live 7) was 5.8 million. In the fourth season, Tom Mason and the Second Independent Group he led were determined to defeat the aliens who invaded the earth once and for all and take back the home of mankind. Falling Skies opens with a scene of almost destruction of the earth after the alien attack.
