Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey), Alec Baldwin, and Christian Slater will star in the true crime limited series Doctor Death. It tells the famous true story: antisocial "killer doctor" Christopher Duntsch killed and maimed 33 patients. He is played by Dornan, and Baldwin and Slater play the other two doctors who helped catch him. Duntsch is a neurosurgeon in Dallas, USA. He is a rising star in the medical field, smart and charming, but he should have cured and saved lives, but he secretly attacked patients, causing fatal injuries when people were most vulnerable-after undergoing complex but routine spinal surgery he performed, 33 patients died or were paralyzed and disabled. Duntsch went unpunished for several years until his colleagues gradually discovered the problem, and two doctors and an assistant prosecutor began to explore his crimes. In 2017, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, the first case in American history where a doctor was convicted for his behavior in the operating room. Directly based on the podcast of the same name, the series explores the psychology of the sociopathic killer and the egregious failures in a healthcare system that is supposed to protect the most vulnerable.
