Plot:
Hou Jiuman (played by Ni Dahong), who grew up in a family of guns and cannons, wanted to defeat foreigners by making guns and cannons. He was named "Gun and Cannon Hou" by Empress Dowager Cixi by chance, but the Qing court did not support him a penny. Hou Jiuman tried his best to "find money", arrest corrupt officials, pit evil officials, rob pirates, and use all means of "making money" that did not harm the interests of the people. The process was full of joy. Hou Jiuman's emotional experience was even more tortuous. He originally had a wife, Hou (played by Zhao Jing), but Empress Dowager Cixi (played by Lv Zhong) gave him an "ears and eyes" Arsalan (played by Yang Xue) and ordered him to marry her as his principal wife. Hou Jiuman, who loved Hou in his heart, played a trick. He divorced Hou first, married Arsalan, and then married Hou back... And Hou Jiuman's four children took the "revolutionary road" in their own way.
