The story describes how the witch Bayonetta, who has the "Eye of the World" in her left eye, travels to the religious city of Vigrid in search of her lost memories. Along the way, she meets Luca, a male reporter who thinks she killed his father, and Jeanne, a white-haired woman with a similar fighting style. In the battle with the angels, she gradually unlocks her lost memories of the past. The original game was developed by PlatinumGames and once received a perfect score of 40 points in Famitsu magazine, making it the 12th game in history to receive a perfect score.
