Ray Ferrier (Tom Cruise) divorced his wife, and his son and daughter live with their mother. Because of his playfulness and laziness, and neglect of responsibility, the family is so fragmented. A disaster of alien invasion allows them to re-establish a close relationship. On this day, his wife was busy, so she had to leave her children to Ray to take care of. There were thunder and lightning, and the sky was dark. Everything seemed a little strange. Sure enough, a huge three-legged aircraft suddenly rose from the ground on the road, and the evil Martians visited this originally peaceful town. People fled everywhere, and Ray also ran away with his daughter, starting a life-and-death adventure. The authorities tried every means to deal with the aliens, but they failed repeatedly, and the whole world fell into panic.
