Adapted from Oscar Wilde's play Lady Windermere's Fan. Lady Irene (Helen Hunt) is a beautiful socialite who calmly deals with all kinds of men and enjoys the noble treatment of a goddess. She is also regarded as a scourge by their wives and is notorious among real ladies. Affected by the economic depression in the United States in the 1930s, Irene came to Italy to look for new opportunities. Her appearance was like a boulder thrown into the lake, disrupting everyone's original peaceful life. Among them are the good woman Meg (Scarlett Johansson) and her husband Windermere.
