Plot:
The jungle, demons and a mysterious young woman: the new film by Mexican director Yuleni Olaizola delves into the mythical world of the Maya. In 1920, in the green no-man's land between Mexico and Belize, a group of Mexicans are beating wood bark, a sticky substance that the Maya use as chewing gum, on trees in the primeval forest. Suddenly, the men discover an unconscious young woman and bring her to their camp. The appearance of this mysterious stranger causes the men to tense and captures their imagination. One by one, they fall under her spell, but too late, they realize that they have awakened Xtabay, the Maya banshee lurking in the heart of the jungle.
