Suzuki Kazuki (played by Inohara Yoshihiko) divorced his wife and lived with his son Nijiki (played by Michieda Shunsuke). His son was at the sentimental age of fifteen, and Kazuki felt very sorry for his child. Nijiki failed the high school entrance examination and passed it in the spring of the following year. The child hoped to eat a lunch box made by his father at noon, so the two made an agreement that Kazuki would make a lunch box for his son every day for three years. His son went to school rain or shine for three years. For the sake of his beloved son, Kazuki began the journey of making lunch boxes.
