The film tells the story of Alice, a hearing-impaired girl who inexplicably regains her sight and hearing after a visit from the Virgin Mary, and can even heal people. The news spreads quickly, and people flock to experience the miracle. A disgraced journalist (played by Jeffrey) wants to find out and regain his reputation. As terrible things happen one after another, he begins to question whether these phenomena are the "masterpiece" of the Virgin Mary, or a more evil existence?
