Plot:
In 1927, when the Northern Expedition had just achieved significant results, the Kuomintang "rightists" launched a crazy "purge" operation to seize power and betray the revolution. In just a few months, nearly 310,000 progressive compatriots were brutally killed, shocking the whole country. China, which had just seen hope, was about to fall into the abyss of warlord melee and dictatorship again. Due to the lack of its own armed forces, the Communist Party of China, which had been established for less than 7 years, almost suffered a devastating blow under the crazy attack of the Kuomintang "rightists". The bloody lesson made Mao Zedong (played by Liu Ye), Zhou Enlai (played by Zhu Yawen) and other progressive elements in the party realize the hard truth that "power comes from the barrel of a gun". At the moment of life and death, they were ordered to go to Hunan and Nanchang at the risk of their lives, and jointly launched an uprising with a group of patriotic generals such as Zhu De (played by Huang Zhizhong), He Long (played by Wang Jingchun), Ye Ting (played by Ou Hao), and Liu Bocheng (played by Yang Dapeng), vowing to form an army that truly belongs to the people. The film tells the story of this heroic and tragic period of passionate years...
