The film is adapted from the mystery novel of the same name by Takeshi Shiota. It is based on the biggest unsolved case of the Showa period and tells the story between journalist Eiji Akutsu (Oguri Shun) and Toshiya Sone (Hoshino Gen), a man who was involved in the case as a teenager.
