Thandie Newton will star in the new film God's Country. Julian Higgins is directing the film, and Higgins and Shay Ogbonna (The Lower Class) are co-writers of the script. The film is adapted from the short story "Winter Light" written by James Lee Burke. It tells the story of a university professor played by Newton who lives alone on the edge of a national forest during a cold winter in the mountains of the western United States. One day, two hunters broke into her land, which triggered a dangerous contest. The film will start shooting in Montana this week.
