Plot:
From September to October 1948, the Liaoshen Campaign and the Jinan Campaign won successive victories, marking the arrival of a decisive turning point in the War of Liberation. At this critical juncture, Chiang Kai-shek (played by Zhao Hengduo) urgently deployed 170,000 superior forces from his three corps to defend the Central Plains. In November of the same year, the East China Field Army launched an attack on Huang Baitao's (played by Xu Huanshan) Corps, and the largest-scale Huaihai Campaign officially began. The on-the-spot uprising of the underground party member He Zhang's defense line won the opportunity for Su Yu (played by Xie Weicai), who was at a disadvantage in time, and successfully cut off Huang Baitao's retreat. After that, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party deployed troops and generals, each showing their abilities. The Central Plains battlefield suddenly became a huge vortex of large scale and extremely destructive power, and the Huaihai Campaign rapidly expanded towards an unexpected scale. This is a key battle that determines the fate of the Chinese nation, and it will be recorded in history forever... This film is a commemorative work for the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Communist Party of China and is the second part of the trilogy of the decisive battle.
