Louis (Owen Vaccaro)'s parents both left him in a terrible accident. The helpless Louis had to pack his bags and go to his uncle Jonathan (Jack Black) whom he hadn't seen for many years. What Louis didn't expect was that Jonathan, who looked ordinary, was actually a magician with powerful magic. In this way, Louis settled down in his uncle's house where supernatural phenomena happened everywhere, and met his uncle's friend Mrs. Zimmerman (Cate Blanchett). There was always a strange ticking sound in the house. Jonathan and Mrs. Zimmerman tried to find the source of this sound but to no avail. The initiator of all this was the evil black magic couple Isaac (Kyle MacLachlan) and Selina (Renee Goldsberry).
