Plot:
"Coming to America" released by Paramount in 1988 is a romantic comedy starring Eddie Murphy at the height of his popularity. It was directed by John Landis and starred James Earl Jones, Arsenio Hall and Garthelle Beavis. Eddie Murphy plays Akeem, a wealthy prince of the fictional African country of Zamunda. In order to escape the royal arrangement and choose his own wife, he went to the United States to study and fell in love with an American middle-class girl, Sally, while working. So he tried every means to conceal his identity and pursue her, but the news leaked out and the king brought a large number of followers to New York, which triggered a series of interesting events. Coming 2 America tells the story of an African prince played by Eddie Murphy who is now crowned king. The old king played by James Earl Jones tells him that he left his illegitimate child in the United States during his 1988 trip to the United States and needs to find him. So the two members of the royal family of an African country go to the United States again and a new journey to the United States begins. The sequel is directed by Craig Brewer (Dolemite Is My Name), and the script is written by Kenya Barris (Black-ish, Girls Trip), etc. Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones and others also return to star, and Wesley Snipes, Kiki Layne, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Jermaine Fowler and others have joined. It is reported that Paramount sold Coming 2 America to Amazon, and the copyright fee is said to be as high as 125 million US dollars. This sequel was originally scheduled to be released in North American theaters on December 18 this year, and is now scheduled to be released on Amazon on March 5, 2021.
