Plot:
The film is based on the biography "Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire" by British writer Amanda Forman. At the end of the 18th century, the young and beautiful Georgiana Cavendish (Keira Knightley) was ordered by her mother to marry the fifth-generation Duke of Devonshire (Ralph Fiennes), who was nine years older than her. Georgiana was smart and funny, and her sensitive sense of fashion made her the center of attention of the London aristocracy, but she could not touch the heart of her unfaithful husband. The Duke of Devonshire was dissatisfied with Georgiana for not bringing him a son, and openly had an affair with her best friend, Lady Elizabeth (Hayley Atwell). Angry Georgiana throws herself into the arms of Charles Grey (Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1830 to 1834) (Dominic Cooper), a newcomer to the Griffin Party, but their relationship is not allowed by the Duke of Devonshire... The film won the Oscar and the British Film and Television Association Award for Best Costume Design, and was nominated for the Oscar for Best Art Direction, the British Film and Television Association Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor (Ralph Fiennes).
