Dominica (Jennifer Lawrence) was originally a ballet dancer. She was injured in an accident, which made it impossible for her to continue her beloved dance career. After that, Dominica was forced to be trained as a spy, codenamed "Red Sparrow". She was assigned by her superiors to lurk around a CIA agent named Nathaniel (Joel Edgerton) to get the list of spies in his hands. Who knew that the original play actually made Dominica fall in love with her. She and Nathaniel both fell in love. The latter also learned about Dominica's tragic life experience. In order to help his lover avenge, Nathaniel decided to become a double agent to help Dominica find out the Russian spies planted in the US military.
