In the eight years since the death of prosecutor Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Gotham City has effectively curbed criminal activities under the efforts of Sheriff Gordon (Gary Oldman). Batman Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) was wanted by the police for the murder of Dent and disappeared in Gotham City. However, this seemingly peaceful state was broken by the appearance of terrorist Bane (Tom Hardy), who used Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) to steal Bruce's fingerprints, causing the Wayne Group to face bankruptcy and Bruce was kicked out of the board of directors. In order to ensure that the energy projects invested by the Wayne Group are not used by bad guys to make nuclear bombs, Bruce helps Miranda (Marion Cotillard) become chairman of the board. Bane's subsequent series of carefully designed plans will put Gotham City into isolation, and the day of destruction is just around the corner. Bruce can only shoulder the responsibility of saving Gotham again. However, his beloved butler Alfred resigns and leaves, Catwoman betrays him, Bane's brutal methods, and his lover Mirada's true face are revealed, all of which make his action to save Gotham impossible...
