Black guy Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and white girl Ruth (Allison Williams) are in love. Although the relationship between the two is very good, Chris has always been grudged for his skin color. One day, the two met at Ruth's house, where Chris met Ruth's parents Dean (Bradley Whitford) and Missy (Catherine Keener). Except for Ruth's brother Jeremy (Caleb Landry Jones) showing a little hostility to Chris, everything is perfect. The next day, Chris attended a party held by Ruth's house. At the party, Chris met his old friend Andrew (Keith Stanfield). What puzzled Chris was that Andrew's dress, conversation and behavior were very different from before, and they were completely different. All kinds of weird clues made Chris gradually realize that he seemed to be caught in a conspiracy.
