Plot:
Taeko, her remarried husband Jiro, and her son Keita originally lived a peaceful and happy life. However, the sudden appearance of her deaf-mute ex-husband who had disappeared for a while forced Taeko to make an unexpected choice. Koji Fukada, who won the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival with "Standing on the Abyss", created this wonderful story inspired by a song of the same name by female singer Akiko Yano. The film is accompanied by communication barriers and incomprehensible behavior from beginning to end. Koji Fukada, who is good at narrative, presents his thoughts and interpretations on the nature of love and human nature with rich metaphors and layers of intense dramatic conflicts. Shortlisted for the main competition unit of the 2022 Venice Film Festival.
