During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Ban Chao's daughter Ban Shu (Jing Tian) sneaked into the women's inner school to serve as a female tutor in order to find proof of her origin. Ban Shu was unconventional in her discipline and used innovative teaching methods, which won the love of students. This made the male tutor Wei Ying (Zhang Zhehan) and Deng Zhi (Deng Zhi), the brother of Empress Dowager Deng (Li Sheng), fall in love with her, and was therefore envied by Kou Lanzhi (Li Xinai), who was originally in charge of the inner school. After repeatedly fighting with Kou Lanzhi, Ban Shu gained the trust of Empress Dowager Deng and became a female tutor in the men's school in the palace, and successfully solved a series of problems and difficulties. After experiencing the twists and turns of Wei Ying's old lover Liu Xuan (Zhang Xinyu) returning to China, as well as a series of crises such as Princess Loulan (Dilraba Dilmurat) and the prince's competition with the palace school, Wei Ying and Ban Shu finally became a couple.
