Plot:
From Shondaland and creator Chris Van Dusen, Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dyvenor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family, as she makes her debut on the competitive dating market in Regency London. Hoping to follow her parents’ example and find a marriage where love comes first, Daphne’s prospects seem limitless. But when her brother begins to thwart her potential suitors, the mysterious Lady Whistledown casts a high-society scandal to vilify Daphne. The Duke of Hastings (Régie-Jean Page) is a man of both charm and rebellion, committed to bachelorhood yet still a darling of the mothers of wealthy girls entering the upper class. Despite their claims to want nothing from each other, the two are undeniably attracted to each other and sparks fly as they try to escape social expectations in an increasingly fierce battle of wits. A blend of romance, scandal and wit, Bridgerton is about timeless friendship, a family searching for direction and the search for love that transcends all. Also starring Golda Rose Uwell, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Nicola Coughlan, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett, Ruth Kimmel, Adjoe Andor, Adjoe Andor, Bessie Carter and Harriet Kens, with Julie Andrews voicing Ms. Whistledown. The series is inspired by the bestselling novels by Julia Quinn.
