Two Asian comedians, Bowen Yang (SNL) and Joel Kim Booster (Big Brothers Big Sisters), will star in the gay-themed romantic comedy Fire Island. The film is a modern adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, telling the story of two friends who go to the famous gay paradise "Fire Island" on Long Island, New York, to spend a week on vacation, accompanied by cheap wine and a group of eclectic friends. Produced by Searchlight Pictures and JAX Media (The Reincarnation Party), directed by Andrew Ahn (Driveway, Sauna Night), and Booster also served as the screenwriter. Filming will start in August and will be released on Hulu (US) and Disney's Star (part of the world outside the US) streaming media.
