Plot:
"The Detective Season 3" is a comedy starring Andy Samberg and Stephanie Beatrix, which premiered in 2016. The series is set in the fictional 99th Precinct of the New York City Police Department in Brooklyn, and mainly tells the story between the detectives in the precinct and the newly appointed sheriff. The story takes place in one of the most remote police precincts in New York City, and the protagonists are a group of detectives with very different personalities. One of the detectives is not serious about his work, and his boss is a by-the-book person who keeps urging him to really "grow up" and not to discredit his badge. Andy Samberg plays Detective Jake Peralta, a brilliant but childish detective who was abandoned by his parents at a young age. Peralta is like the "class clown", always playing pranks on his colleagues and making fun of them, especially his partner Santiago; later he found that he actually had romantic feelings for Santiago, and confessed his feelings to her after an undercover stint for the FBI. Despite Peralta's free-spirited lifestyle and antics, he is the detective with the most arrests in his district. He often ignores daily etiquette and rules, and is often reprimanded by the stern Chief Holt for this. Despite this, the two eventually established a respectful colleague relationship. It is hinted in the show that Praalta is at least half Jewish.
