The film is adapted from the Tomato novel IP "Royal Gold Medal County Magistrate", written by Banmian Wangzai. The play tells the story of the protagonist Chen Mancang (played by Hu Wei) who successfully breaks through himself after a series of bizarre tests and transforms into a grateful, positive and ambitious young man in society.
