Plot:
Hulu will launch a new drama "Immigrant" focusing on the history and scandal behind the "world's first male stripper group" Chippendales. Kumail Nanjiani ("Silicon Valley" and "Eternals") starred and served as executive producer, and Robert Siegel ("The Entrepreneur") wrote the script. The entire season of 8 episodes has been directly booked. The drama is portrayed as a crazy, darkly comedic crime story. Nanjiani plays Somen "Steve" Banerjee, an Indian-American businessman who founded the famous male striptease show Chippendales. In the 1980s, Chippendales became popular in New York and became a cultural phenomenon of material desire. Subsequently, there were murders of many show producers, dancers and choreographers. In the end, Banerjee confessed to arson, fraud and hired murder.
