The web drama tells the story of Shi Guang (played by Hu Xianxu) who discovered an ancient chessboard by chance, and thus met Chu Ying, the number one Go player in the Southern Liang Dynasty who had been entrenched in the chessboard for thousands of years. Under his influence, he gradually developed an interest in Go and aspired to become a professional Go player.
