Plot:
From 1928 to 1949, Chen Huaihai, a small figure who came to Northeast China by "breaking through Guandong", dug ginseng to make a living in the deep mountains and old forests of Northeast China, but unexpectedly suffered the hardships of his two children being separated and his wife being deceived. He had to come to Dalian under Japanese colonial rule to open a tavern to make a living. The old tavern thus became a stage for information from all directions and people of all colors to gather. Chen Huaihai, who was righteous and tenacious and hated evil, used this stage to protect the "Old North Wind" who killed the Japanese military police, persuaded the Northeast Army Brigade Commander Ma to return to the anti-Japanese battlefield, denounced the Qing Dynasty remnants who whitewashed the puppet Manchukuo, and fought with Japanese ronin to support the Chinese. The underground party organization of the Communist Party of China sent Gu Sanmei to break into the old tavern and turned it into the party's underground transportation station. Under the influence of Gu Sanmei, Chen Huaihai's daughter Xiao Mian'ao became an anti-Japanese traffic officer. On the eve of the liberation of Dalian, Chen Huaihai helped Gu Sanmei smash the Japanese invaders' plan to destroy the city. They welcomed the liberation of Dalian together and also gained sincere love.
