Plot:
The play is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. In the summer and autumn of 1959, a severe drought ruthlessly devoured Lin County, rivers, ponds and reservoirs dried up, crops died on a large scale, and people and livestock were in extreme difficulties in using water. Led by Yang Gui, secretary of the county party committee, a group of people in Lin County were determined to completely change the water shortage dilemma of Lin County's ancestors. After careful field investigation, the county party committee decided to build the Red Flag Canal, a project to divert the Zhang River into Lin County, to rearrange the rivers and mountains of Lin County, and to completely change the water shortage dilemma of the people of Lin County since ancient times. Yang Gui and a group of people in the county party committee led the people of Lin County to overcome the many difficulties brought about by natural disasters, to withstand the sarcasm of some people, to build the "Driving the Zhang River into Lin County Project" with thousands of troops and horses, and to fight against the sky and the earth. It took ten years and finally built an artificial Tianhe Red Flag Canal on the waist of Taihang Mountain.
