"SEAL Team Six" premiered on January 18th, US time. This 8-episode drama was written by Oscar-nominated and former Vietnam veteran William Broyles and his son David Broyles. The background is the US Navy SEAL Team Six. The drama tells the story of how they successfully killed a Taliban leader in Afghanistan in 2014, but found that American citizens were cooperating with terrorists. This drama is based on a real mission. The location of each season is different. The first season is set in Africa. The location is inspired by the real student kidnapping case in Africa. Lesli Linka Glatter, the director of "Homeland", will direct the first two episodes of the drama. Barry Sloane plays John Graves, nicknamed Bear, the new captain of SEAL Team Six, hoping to strike a balance between family, troops and individuals. Kyle Schmid plays Alex Caulder, who is smart, efficient and calm. He is a senior SEAL member and an important member of SEAL Team Six. Even when a mission threatens his personal or family relationships, he is able to put them aside to focus on the action because of his loyalty to the brothers who have been with him through thick and thin. Juan Pablo Raba plays Ricky Ortiz, nicknamed Buddha, a veteran of SEAL Team 6. Edwin Hodge will play Robert Chase, a SEAL in training who is currently being considered to replace Ricky Ortiz. He can complete challenges quickly, but will make some rookie mistakes. Walton Goggins, the star of "The Shield" and "Justified", plays Richard "Rip" Taggart, a rough, haggard and aggressive soldier who was once the leader of SEAL Team 6. He made a questionable decision during the mission. Two years after leaving the job, he was working in Africa to protect a small village from the terrorist organization Boko Haram, and was captured when they attacked. SEAL Team 6 had to put aside their opinions and save their former leader. This role was originally played by Joe Manganiello. Nadine Velazquez plays Jackie, a strong military wife whose husband Ricky Ortiz is considering retiring from SEAL Team Six but is called up to complete one last mission. Brianne Davis plays Lena Graves, John Graves' wife, a hard-working teacher. Christopher Backus plays Sean, a reporter who films local conditions in Africa. Dominic Adams plays the villain Michael. Jaylen Moore plays Armin Khan, nicknamed Fishbait, Donny Boaz plays Beauregard Buckley, nicknamed Buck, and Nondumiso Tembe plays Na'omi.
