The story follows Olivia Liang as Nikki, a quarter-century-old who drops out of college and embarks on a life-changing journey to an isolated temple in China. When she returns to San Francisco, she discovers her hometown is rife with crime and corruption, and her parents, Jin (Thai Ma) and Mei-Li (Qiong-Hua Chen), are controlled by a powerful triad. Together with those around her, she will use her martial arts skills and spirit to protect her community and bring the evil to justice.
