The film is directed by Michel Hazanavicius, the director of the Oscar-winning film "The Artist". It focuses on the French film scene in the 1960s and 1970s. It tells the true love story between Godard and female writer/actress Anne Wiazemsky. Louis Garrel plays Godard during the May Storm.
