The film takes the important historical node of the first awarding of military ranks and medals in late September 1955 as the main line, and interweaves the flashbacks of the founding leaders and generals in different revolutionary historical stages, fully demonstrating the relatively novel and unique narrative style of the creation of major revolutionary historical films with narration, discussion and flashbacks. There are both magnificent war scenes and the subtle emotional expressions of the characters' separation and death. The organic combination of the two produces revolutionary heroism and revolutionary optimism. The characters are vivid and lifelike, and the historical events are authentic and verifiable. It condenses and shows the historical chapters of the Chinese People's Liberation Army since the August 1st Nanchang Uprising.
