Starting from the 1980s of reform and opening up, the film tells the story of Huaqi employees, mainly Ai Changan and Shen Xia, and college students such as Xu Chi who came to Huaqi Factory for internship, and how they share the same fate with the automobile industry on which they depend for their survival.
