Plot:
In the 1930s, in old Shanghai. Gu Manzhen (played by Ruby Lin) is elegant and quiet. She takes care of her mother at home and works independently outside. Her love with her colleague Shen Shijun (played by Patrick Tam) has just sprouted. Manzhen has an older sister, Manlu (played by Jiang Qinqin), who became a dancer at the age of 17 to support her family. Later, she reluctantly gave up her first love and married Zhu Hongcai, who was rich and powerful and could make her family live a rich life. Zhu Hongcai was not a man who lived a peaceful life.
