Plot:
This is the story of the continuing saga of the Dollanger family in the early 1990s. Bart Sheffield, who undergoes psychiatric treatment as a teenager following his encounter with his late grandmother, Colleen Foxworth, becomes the sole heir to Colleen's estate. He reestablishes the Foxworth Estate and legally changes his last name from Sheffield to Foxworth. The estate is legally administered by Bart's father, Christopher Sheffield, until Bart turns 25 as specified in Colleen's will. Bart gathers his entire family to celebrate his twenty-fifth birthday, at which point an additional clause in Colleen's will is read as per her instructions. This family includes: his parents, Chris and Cathy Sheffield, whose marriage Bart knows about; his brother and his wife, Jorie and Melody Marquette, both of whom are famous ballet dancers; and his adopted teenage sister, Cindy Sheffield, who openly explores her sexuality. Bart has pushed his family away since his psychiatric treatment, especially Chris, who is not his biological parent and whom he no longer wants in his life, and Cindy, who he never considered his sister and therefore a member of the family. An incident on his birthday results in the family needing to stay longer at Foxworth Manor. Bart has become a religious fanatic, much like his great-grandparents, Malcolm and Olivia Foxworth, whom he secretly worships. The spirit of Malcolm lives through Bart, and he tries to dictate what happens with his family, as he has a warped view of the relationship based on his parents, and as he reconciles his own animal urges against his/Malcolm's religious beliefs.
