Plot:
Russell Crowe, Nicholas Hoult, George MacKay, and Essie Davis join the new biographical crime drama film "The True History of the Kelly Gang". Justin Kurzel ("Macbeth", "Assassin's Creed") will direct and start shooting in Australia in March next year. Sean Grant ("Jasper Jones", "Berlin Syndrome") wrote the script, based on Peter Carey's Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name, telling the legendary life of Australian outlaw Edward "Ned" Kelly. Kelly is recognized as the last and most famous outlaw. Exiled to Australia due to family changes, he and his brother and friends established the "Kelly Gang" to resist brutal police and the government, and murdered several police officers during this period. In the last battle of his life, he wore bulletproof armor and engaged in a fierce gun battle with the police. He was seriously injured and became the only survivor. He was imprisoned in Melbourne Prison and hanged in 1880 at the age of 25. Travis Fimmel, Sean Keenan, Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things, Power Rangers), Harry Greenwood, Thomasin McKenzie, Earl Cave and others starred, and Liz Watts, Hal Vogel and Brad Feinstein produced.
