God's Not Dead tells the story of a young man named Josh Wheaton defending his belief in God. Josh is a freshman, and his professor tells the students that "God is dead" and requires the students to sign a statement about "God is dead" in order to pass the course. Josh refuses to sign the statement and has to accept the challenge of proving that "God is alive".
