Adapted from Mr. Lu Yao's classic novella "Life". The story is based on the urban and rural life in the northern Shaanxi Plateau during the reform period in the 1980s. It tells the story of a group of young people such as Gao Jialin, Gao Shuangxing, Liu Qiaozhen, and Huang Yaping who left the Loess Plateau and came to Shanghai. In the tide of reform and opening up, they experienced twists and turns in their relationships and careers. They continued to struggle and fight to change their lives.
