Plot:
Brittany Forgler is a funny, likeable, 27-year-old New Yorker whose tight schedule has her living a messy life, whose seedy nightclub adventures and early morning walks of shame make her late for work every day. But when she stops at a place called the "referral doctor's office" to try to get her medication filled, Brittany gets a series of diagnoses instead: elevated heart rate, high blood pressure... a long list of ailments. Suddenly, Brittany is forced to get a grip, lace up her Converse sneakers, and run a sweaty block. The next day, she runs twice. Soon she's running a mile. Brittany finally has direction, but is she going the right way? Award-winning playwright Paul Downs-Colaizo makes his directorial debut with this bright, lively comedy, and Jillian Bell brings heart and soul to Brittany's story with an irresistible cast. Brittany Runs a Marathon is a film that's as funny as it is inspiring, telling the story of how a woman known for being the life of the party finds real friends and an authentic life by taking control of herself, one block at a time.
