Tian Zao (played by Zhao Lusi) has been engaged in grassroots work since the early days of liberation, and later became a popular neighborhood committee director. She has served the people for 70 years, from participating in catching spies and literacy to leading the masses to do handicrafts to donate to the volunteer army, to the era of reform and opening up, helping informed and social youth to find reemployment, and guiding her daughter to take over her class. Tian Zao did not leave her post after retirement. Until she was 90 years old, her granddaughter Lin Yue (played by Guan Xiaotong) became the director of the neighborhood committee. She still came out to help everyone solve problems when the masses needed her, mobilized old residents to demolish illegal buildings and vacate their houses, and other trivial work. Tian Zao personally participated in the ideological work of the old neighbors. From the early days of liberation to the present, three generations of women in a family have taken root in the neighborhood committee. As the motherland becomes stronger and people's needs change, they also adjust their working methods at any time to keep up with the pace of the times, but their original intention to serve the people has never changed.
