From Shondaland and creator Chris Van Dusen, Bridgerton is set in Regency London and tells the story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the wealthy and powerful Bridgerton family, as she makes her debut in the competitive dating market. Daphne hopes to find a partner she truly loves, just like her parents did, and initially, her prospects seem limitless. But then her brother begins to thwart her potential suitors, and the mysterious Lady Whistledown fabricates a high-society scandal to slander Daphne. The charming and rebellious Duke of Hastings (Régie-Jean Page) is a staunch bachelor, but this doesn't stop the mothers of social novice girls from liking him. Although Daphne and Hastings claim that they are not interested in each other, in a tense battle of wits, the two are undeniably attracted to each other and sparks fly as they try to break free from social expectations.
