Plot:
Gentleman Jean Valjean (Dominic West) was sentenced to 20 years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread. After being released from prison, he was taken in by a kind-hearted bishop because of his difficult life. However, Jean Valjean, who could not withstand the test of the dark side of his heart, stole the silver candlestick from the bishop's house. After being arrested, in order to protect Jean Valjean, the bishop admitted that he had taken the initiative to give the candlestick to the other party. The bishop's move completely influenced Jean Valjean and made him decide to turn over a new leaf and become a good man. Time flies, and the former prisoner has now become a respected mayor. However, even so, the hateful sheriff Javert (David Oyelowo) has never given up tracking Jean Valjean. In order to make up for his past mistakes, Jean Valjean promised the prostitute Fantine (Lily Collins) to take care of her daughter Cosette (Ellie Bamber) after her death. At this time, Javert's relentless pace forced Jean Valjean and Cosette to embark on a journey of hiding their identities and fleeing.
