This film tells the story of a boy's growth from the age of 6 to 18. Director Richard Linklater spent 12 years to complete this work. It carefully depicts the growth process of the child and the changes in all aspects of his parents, allowing the audience to experience the traces of the passing of time in detail. In order not to disturb the normal life of the lead actor Ella Salmon, the filming was completed in a short period of time during his summer vacation.
